Dr. Hummira Abawi, FACFAS, DABPM, is a double Board-Certified podiatric surgeon specializing in foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions for children and adults. She treats sports injuries, Achilles tendon issues, arthritis, flat feet, bunions, hammertoes, Charcot deformity, and diabetic foot problems with advanced wound care. With over a decade of experience in Maryland, she has performed thousands of inpatient and outpatient procedures.
Recognized nationally in minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery, she is among the first East Coast female surgeons to perform minimally invasive bunion and hammertoe surgeries. An Ambulatory Surgical Center is a facility where surgeries are performed that do not require the patient to be admitted to the hospital.
